Quiet And The Mind

If you don’t know what to decide, have a break. If you are not ready to say yes or no, sleep on It. If your mind is agitated, go for a walk. If you are sad or angry, let it be and breathe deeply; the feeling will pass. If you don’t see the end of a situation, focus on the next step. If you feel stressed, stop and connect with your body. If you are frustrated about a situation, wait a moment before answering. If preparing for a challenging conversation, prepare what you need to prepare and then pause. Etc.

Our minds have a natural and built-in mechanism for dealing with complex or difficult situations. Finding a way to calm our mind is the best way to find the answers we seek, also in the most challenging situations.

It helps us get out of the thinking loop and reset. Start new.

It also opens the door to starting a new set of thoughts, fresh, new thoughts that will be more helpful. But we are so used to relying on our thought system that we ignore the other intelligence sources available to us.

Yesterday, I was caught up in a chain of thoughts about a personal topic that felt unsolvable to me, and then I remembered how the mind works and went for a beautiful walk. (See the picture, isn’t autumn gorgeous? ).

My mind calmed down, and I started to see more. I still don’t have the answers I am looking for, but I got hope again that I will find a satisfying solution. Hope is priceless. It was all I needed to be able to think in a different direction and regain my creativity and a trusting smile on my face again.

There is intelligence behind life. A source of creativity for the answers we seek. It’s built into us to be able so we can connect with it. When we remember it, it is very very powerful.

It helps us navigate life more gracefully.
